Pictured above is me with my incredibly energetic 3 1/2 year old on my back and my sassy 19 month old boy sitting on my lap. It's rare that I have them both on my lap because they both don't want to be sitting still! Not even for a second, which is why I'm making this post after they are both in bed.
The love of books in this house is palpable. We have stacks of books in addition to the hundreds of books we have on shelves, and books we garner from the library often. So becoming a Usborne book consultant seemed like a no-brainer. Especially with two very young kids who both love books and with our plans to homeschool them.
So let me start off with my youngest, William. He loves books you can feel. He's a little developmentally delayed so books that are multi sensory AND durable are a must at our house. These are a couple of his favorites right now:
They are incredibly bring and vibrant books and he loves them.
We are big fans of dragons at our house so it was a given that we would get the, "That's Not My Dragon..." book.

Adorable, right? He gets so excited to touch each of the dragons. It's hard to show the other textures with pictures but the shiny ones are definitely easier to see! He loves the dragon wings in that second picture.

And these are only a couple of the pages. I love this because he has profound hearing loss and we can do the signs for each of the animals (and fish) as we go through the book as well as the colors. When he's wearing his hearing device, we do the animal sounds and he loves it! It is also handy for when we are trying to get him to point to a specific thing, getting him to differentiate between the mouse or the cat. He's getting really good at it too! He gets excited to see the bright, vibrant colors, and to touch each of them.
And the other great thing, for me, is the fact that things have been spilled on these books I don't know how many times, and they have wiped clean with no issue. They've been dropped, dare I say it... thrown... and sat on. And they hold up beautifully!
I'm hoping to post more about the other great books that Usborne posts on a daily or every other day basis! Trying to make it relevant for kids of all ages! We sell everything from newborn to some of the classics!
